At Home Conversation Prompts to Support our Novel Study:
-Ask your child to retell the main events of the story thus far
-Ask you child to name and describe some of the main characters in the story thus far
-Ask you child to share with you his/her prediction about who or what was calling James from inside the peach (at the end of chapter 10)

Working With Words: Nov 18-22 and Our French Play

Last week, we assigned roles for our French play "Les Trois Petits Cochons" and today, the students got into their groups to start rehearsing. We've been talking a lot about group work and the trials and triumphs that can arise when working with others. We talked about some the the key factors that influence the success of the group overall and the students were involved in a self-reflection following their first initial rehearsal.  Pictured below are some very on-task groups - we will keep up the good work and see what can be accomplished when a group works hard on these main goals:

1. Respecting all group members
2. Doing your fair share of the work
3. Addressing challenges with kind words and "I feel" statements
4. Staying with your group for the entire work period and keeping conversation on-task
