Animal Projects (Part 2)

Here are the rest of our animal projects! Students have been working so hard on these since October. What a challenging and exciting unit of study it was!

Below the pictures, each student shared what the most interesting thing they learned or their favourite fact about their animal.

Wow - what amazing researchers we have in room 113 and it's a good thing because we need students like these who have such compassion and empathy for animals. We discovered that now more than ever, animals need our advocacy and help to protect their habitats and the environment we share with them. We want these animals to be able to exist in the word for many years to come.

Favourite new discoveries about the animals we studied....

Sam - I learned that snakes can be venomous.
Renae - I learned that zebras can break a lion bone.
Clara - I learned that wild horses can be trained by people.
Jillian - Pandas are eat ten times a day.
Rou'a - I learned that lions are faster than cheetahs.
Symone - I learned that people used to have cheetahs hunt with them and have them as pets.
Austen - I learned that cheetahs can run 130 kilometers per hour.
Ava - I learned that if you go too close to a narwhals and they squeak or squeal, you can become deaf.
Garrett - I learned that monkeys can jump 20 feet tree to tree.
Olivia - I learned that narwhals can poke you.
Jaida - I learned that frogs have sticky feet.
Owen - I learned that crocodiles have sharp teeth so they can bite their food hard.
Jasmine - Dolphins can also eat a lot of different things other then just squish, fish and octopus. They sometimes even eat other dolphins.
Trinity - I learned that elephant's trunks are 2 meters long.
Mya - I learned that pandas sleep at night for 2 hours.
Ruby - I leaned that deer are calm even with kids around, but are not calm with grown ups around.
Lincoln - I learned that orcas eat sharks.
Lynn - I learned that arctic foxes change colour in the springtime and summer.
Caleb - I learned that wolves are the largest canine in the world.
